As well as birds in flight and quadrupeds in motion, I have been looking at other animals and fish. Below is a video of all the animals I observed at Noah's Ark that weren't four-legged or flying;
I also went to Bristol Aquarium to photograph and film fish in motion. Fish swim in a similar way to how birds fly, so studying the overlapping action of their fins helped me further understand wings. I mostly used it as an opportunity to gather as much reference material as possible for future animations;
As with quadrupeds and birds, I broke up my most useful footage into sequences, to break down the action and serve as a useful reference in the future. I'd've liked to do some test animations of fish but felt I had to focus on the actual Action Analysis brief.
I recently filmed my boyfriend and his flatmates fencing at a national competition at Bath university and have broken down some of the lunges and attacks into sequences, for a reference I may use in the future. Here is the original footage first;
